How to book

The calendar below is NOT LIVE, but is updated regularly and shows when sessions are planned for each activity.

To make a booking please text or WhatsApp 07393 571 240, or email actionadventureaviemore@gmail.com and we will guide you through the booking process.

Activities purchased in advance should be booked at least 7 days prior to arrival.

Purchases made on arrival or once in resort should be booked at the time of purchase.

Bookings are secured when paid in full, and an email confirmation has been sent out.

Once booked please use the sign-in link below to check-in before arriving for your activity.

The meeting point for all activities is our Hub Hut next to the Strathspey Hotel Car Park.

    target sports

    AVAILABLE EASTER & SUMMER 2025 (July & August)

    Join us on our target sports field for an ideal introductory session to various zombie apocalypse survival weapons. Everyone will get a chance to try axe throwing, archery and crossbow. Outdoor or indoor depending on weather. We will talk you through how to safely use each weapon and also suggest some games for those of you who have a competitive side! Great introductory session that will leave you wanting more. *some dates will not have indoor option.

    Sessions run Easter & Summer (July & August)

      combat archery

      Available Easter and Summer 2025

      Test your self and your team strategy against the “enemy” in these various combat scenarios with these very low impact foam tipped arrows. For intrepid and adventurous 7 year olds and upwards.

      • Overall, face masks and hi-vis bibs provided. Changing rooms available.
      • Flip flops or open toed footwear not permitted.
      • Minimum 4 participants. Can be in mixed groups with other participants. Private bookings available for larger groups.
      • Sessions can last up to 60 – 90 minutes depending on group size.

        archery golf

        Available Easter and Summer 2025

        Test your accuracy. Your instructor will lead you through a safety briefing and training before you make your own way around our 18 holes Archery Golf Course set in a beautiful woodland on the edge of Aviemore Centre. Compete against yourself and the others in your group. Groups may be made up from smaller bookings.

        Flip flops or open toe footwear not permitted.

        family highland games

        Available Easter & Summer 2025

        Become your inner Highlander with these games of both skill and power.  We’ll show you the ropes in a series of Highland Games challenges.  Tug o War, Caber Toss, Hay Bale Toss, Welly Boot Throw, Haggis Hurling, Barrel Race and finishing with our Highland Warrior Relay Race. Your instructor will teach you everything you need to know whilst in a safe and supportive environment. *some dates may not have an indoor option.

        paddle boarding

        Available Summer 2025 (July & August)

        A session on a small Lochan only a few minutes from the Aviemore Hotel, giving you the chance to try Paddle Boarding whilst enjoying the beautiful countryside views. This session is ideal for those new to Paddle Boarding or anyone considering getting into this new sport. The instructor will teach you the basics in a safe and supportive environment. We will provide you with a paddle board, wetsuit and buoyancy aid.

        £39 per person

        Sessions up to 90 minutes at the water.

          gorge walking

          Available Summer 2025

          Your patient and knowledgeable instructors will safely guide you up, in and on the river all whilst exploring various rock pools, waterfalls, flumes and for our grand finale, we have a couple of optional jumps to really get the heart pumping!

          • Sessions run July & August
          • For 7 year olds and upwards (under 18’s must be accompanied by a participating adult)
          • Suitability: Moderate level of water confidence and a sense of adventure.
          • Minimum 8 participants. Max weight 18 stone.
          • Individual bookings will be combined into groups. Private bookings available.
          • £69 per person
          • Sessions last approximately 3 hours depending on group size. This includes kitting out & travel time to & from the gorge.

          Canyoning – available 2026

          Your patient and knowledgeable instructors will safely lead you down our river via white water flumes, rock pools and jumps. We literally throw you in at the deep end; and then from there we gradually build up to the grand finale. Not to be confused with gorge walking and river tubing, or canoeing…

          • Sessions run July and August
          • For intrepid and adventurous 12 year olds and upwards (under 18’s must be accompanied by a participating adult)
          • Suitability: Good water confidence and willing to take on a bit of a challenge.
          • Wetsuits, buoyancy aids & helmets provided
          • Minimum 8 participants. Max weight 18 stone.
          • Individual bookings will be combined into groups. Private bookings available.
          • Sessions last approximately 3 hours depending on group size. This includes kitting out & travel time to & from the gorge.
          • Changing facilities showers available
          • £79 per person.

          rafting – available 2026

          Prepare for an unforgettable adventure as you take on the rapids with our White Water Rafting experience! Under the guidance of our expert instructors, you’ll navigate thrilling white water sections, working as a team to tackle waves, drops, and fast-flowing currents. Ideal for those with little or no previous experience. This is a great test of teamwork, with excitement, and adrenaline thrown in!

          These Terms & Conditions are SPECIFIC TO ACTIVITIES AT MacDONALD AVIEMORE RESORT

          Bookings & Availability

          All of our bookings are done via email and we aim to reply to all emails within 48 hours. 

          We allocate all our sessions on a first come first served basis and although we will try to offer you your preferred date and time, we are not always able to do this. Holiday dates often need to be booked several weeks in advance.

          Please note that we will not confirm a booking until we receive a mobile number. We will only use this number in case of needing to contact you in regards to your session. 

          All activities must be paid in full in advance of a confirmation email being provided.

          Any past or current medical conditions should be provided at the time of booking. Where a medical condition excludes participation another participant can be substituted, or a credit or refund may be offered.

          ALL OUR ACTIVITIES REQUIRE AT LEAST 1 ADULT PARTICIPANT.

          Please note all timings for activities & sessions are approximate & may vary.

          Medical conditions

          Please note that all of our activities require a moderate level of fitness, though none are particularly strenuous. On booking any activity you will be deemed to have accepted that you are fit enough to participate.

          Certain medical conditions and pre-existing or historical injuries may limit or exclude participation in certain activities. We may require written clarification from your doctor or consultant regarding your ability to participate in any particular activity. This will be required before a booking can be confirmed. e.g. Asthma, heart condition, previous fractures, dislocations or muscular injuries. Whilst this is not an exhaustive list prospective participants must inform AAA of all and any factors that may have a bearing on their ability to safely participate in an activity.

          Customers who are pregnant are not able to participate in our activities.

          Customers will be expected to accept a level of responsibility in that if they have any medical condition whatsoever, or are on any medication whatsoever, it is the responsibility of the customer to seek appropriate advice prior to arrival. For adult groups the onus is on individual participants to contact Action Adventure Activities with any relevant information, not the person leading the group and or making the booking. Participants who have been prescribed an Inhaler, Epipen, GTN spray must bring this with them for their session in order to participate.

          Pets

          We love furry adventurers, but we don’t like cleaning up after them! We are happy for you to bring your canine companions with you however, they must be on a leash at all times and we expect you to clean up any poops and dispose of it responsibly. We have bins, spare poo bags and water bowls. If your dog cannot be left in your vehicle while you participate in your activity then you will need to bring a non participant adult with you to look after the dog. Some of our activities are not appropriate for dogs to be in the activity area, please speak to us for more details.

          Postponement of your booking

          Although we try our very best to run all sessions, Scottish weather can be against us sometimes, as can other technical issues which  this may result in postponing your session at short notice. We will give you as much notice as possible in these instances.

          Please check your email and voicemail both the night before your activity and in the morning before setting out. If we have postponed your session, we will make every effort to re-arrange your session for a suitable date in the near future.

          Where AAA cannot provide an activity due to technical difficulties/group size/weather affecting the safe provision of the activity or other circumstances out of our control then an equally priced or greater priced activity may be offered in its place, or the original activity will be rescheduled.

          Cancellation Policy

          On booking an outdoor activity in Spey Valley we expect that customers will be prepared for the variability of the Scottish weather. As such activities will take place outside unless there is a met office weather warning. Firstly an alternative session would be offered and in circumstances where this is not possible a refund may be offered. Refunds will be at the discretion of  Action Adventure Activities only. 

          We understand that things change and you may need to cancel or change your booking.  We are happy to rearrange your booking up to 7 days before your session. If we receive less than 7 days notice there will be a re-booking fee of £10 per person applied.

          Force Majeure

          Action Adventure Activities cannot be held liable if through Force Majeure our agreement is entirely or partially, temporarily or permanently, prevented by circumstances beyond the control of Action Adventure Activities such as, fire, floods, stormy weather, gales, snow, extreme heat or cold climate conditions, civil disorder, threat of war, staff strikes, blockades and other interference’s or events.

          Liability

          Action Adventure Activities accept no liability for: theft, loss or damage, of whatever nature, during or as a result of visiting us.

          Action Adventure Activities will not be held responsible for any travel, accommodation or incidental expenses incurred by customers.

          Action Adventure Activities will only be liable for loss or damage caused by the proven specific negligence of it’s suppliers or employees in performing their obligations under this contract. We have £5 million public liability insurance cover in place to protect you under such circumstances. We cannot be held responsible for any mishap to yourself or your property such as trips, falls, flight cancellations, vehicle accidents, strikes, sickness, police intervention or other such happenings amounting to force majeure. You are strongly recommended to have insurance for the duration of your trip in respect of cancellation and curtailment, injury, death, lost & damaged property, money, liability, medical expenses and repatriation.

          Action Adventure Activities place great emphasis on the safety and comfort of our clients. We only employ suitably qualified, well trained staff and use only modern correctly maintained equipment. However outdoor activities are inherently hazardous by their nature and participants must accept that participation could result in physical harm or even death. The environment in which our activities may take place can add to this with remoteness and the terrain on which some activities take place. Parents and guardians must also accept a degree of risk to their children. Group organisers must explain this risk to all group members (or Parents/Guardians where appropriate) before confirming their participation. ***While we will take all reasonably practical steps to reduce the risk of transmission of the COVID-19 virus during our activities it is impossible to reduce this risk to zero and there remains a very small risk of transmission between participants***

          To ensure everyone’s safety as far as possible, we reserve the right to postpone or cancel the activities on offer as weather, group requirements or other technical issues dictate. If we feel any person(s) on an activity are placing themselves or the group at risk by their actions, we reserve the right to remove the person(s) concerned from the activity. No refund or right to rebook would be permitted.

           

          Risks

          Action Adventure Activities take place is located in open countryside, farmland & woodland with all the inherent risks of trips, falls, stings etc being a normal part of participation. Children must be supervised at all times. Do not climb on log piles. It is the parents/guardians responsibility to ensure that young children do not place themselves in a situation whereby they can injure themselves by being vigilant of any potential incident. As with all outdoor activities, parental supervision is essential, at all times. AAA cannot be held liable for any injuries sustained due to parents/guardians failing to supervise children appropriately. All adult visitors have a duty of care to themselves and others to act in a responsible manner.

          All participants over 18 years are required to complete an Acknowledgement of Risk for themselves and on behalf of any participants, on their booking, under the age of 18.

          If you have a complaint

          We want you to have an enjoyable time with us. In the event that there is something that you are not happy about please notify AAA as soon as possible during your visit. If you are still not satisfied with how matters have been dealt with then you can email us within 14 days of departure setting out the details of your complaint.
